Red hatters are becoming a regular view at the store, we stock many one of a kind items just for them.

“Gidgit” turned up at the store in 2009 each day to enjoy ice-cream from the customers. We think she is an ice-creamaholic! Customers returned back to see her threw out the summer. When the cold weather hit she still came to the store. She had chosen us as her family and our hearts went out to her and she was accepted into our home. Here you will see she is feeling quite at home in her new home.

We held a drawing contest in 2009, “fun in the snow” our customers had a chance to see all the drawings and pick which 3 children they thought had the best drawings. Two of the winners are shown here, each of the three winners received a gift package filled with paper, pencils, paints, markers and more.

 “Nest Egg” stays open into December for the Christmas season, we have ice-cream right up till we close our doors, for the season. The Store turns into a Christmas wonderland filled  with items in each and every corner with gift giving ideas. Don’t be in a hurry when you stop in, you’ll want to spend some time peeking around.    

Near Christmas you might see Santa in and around the store, staying for a bit to greet some of the local children, you might even see Mrs Claus accompanying him.

Sometimes you just have a special family moment.

 New in 2009 we gave a introductory class on Christmas live centre pieces. We expected to see some interest, but nothing compared to what we got. Our one night class was over full and we put on a second night that also was a full house. We are sure to bring back the classes and maybe introduce some more new ideas with winter greens. We love to hear your ideas of things to do at Nest Egg.

 Halloween is a night of ghosts and goblins and we make a point to stay to great all the little ones wanting some goodies put into their bags. Here I am waiting for them and you can see the local cat also wanted to partake in the night. What’s a witch without her cat!

The Town of Seeley’s Bay holds a winter Frost Fest each year in early February, this Frost Fest is now in its 16^th year. Starting in 2009 they held the first chili contest of the town. We are pleased to have won the trophy for the best chili, and it is proudly displayed in the store.

We are also pleased to say it was a close call but we  won the trophy for the 2010 chili fest too.

 Canada day is a big event in the town, each year they hold a Canada day in the park day, with all sorts of events. They held a pet photo contest and we entered our home cat “Bandit” she tied for 2^nd place. We also had a float we pulled down the Main Street, it was a very large handmade nest full of large colourful eggs, Canadian flags and it even had a large chicken  sitting on the edge of the nest holding an ice cream cone.
